An opportunity to lead a brand new children's home with a provider that is building services thoughtfully, sustainably and with children firmly at the centre of every decision. Our client is opening their second children's home, creating a specialist 3-bed service for children aged 7–17 with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and Learning Disabilities (LD). This is an opportunity for an experienced Registered Manager who enjoys building strong teams, creating positive cultures and developing homes where children can genuinely feel safe, valued and able to thrive.

Rather than inheriting existing challenges, you will have the opportunity to shape the home from day one, supported by an accessible senior leadership team that believes outstanding care starts with well-supported leaders. Founded with a clear purpose of creating positive futures for children, the provider has developed a reputation for delivering safe, nurturing environments where every child receives an individualised care plan tailored to their needs. Their values of Compassion, Respect, Community and Growth underpin everything they do, creating an environment where both children and colleagues are supported to succeed.

As Registered Manager, you will take responsibility for establishing and leading this new home, building a stable, therapeutic environment where children receive high-quality care and meaningful opportunities to progress. You will work closely with senior leaders who remain actively involved in the service, providing guidance, support and shared accountability as the home develops.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading the registration, opening and ongoing development of the home
  • Building, developing and supporting a committed residential team
  • Creating a therapeutic, child-focused culture from the outset
  • Maintaining high standards of safeguarding, care planning and regulatory compliance
  • Ensuring the home consistently delivers positive outcomes for children and young people
  • Working collaboratively with families, education providers and placing authorities
  • Supporting staff through regular supervision, coaching and development
  • Promoting continuous improvement and preparing the home for successful Ofsted inspections

Launching only their second home, the provider has retained the close support and accessibility that can sometimes be lost within larger organisations. You will benefit from:

  • The opportunity to shape the culture, team and standards from day one
  • Direct access to senior leaders who remain actively involved in the service
  • Shared leadership and accountability rather than feeling isolated in the role
  • Regular supervision and reflective practice
  • Funded qualifications and specialist training, including trauma-informed care, Makaton and learning disability development
  • A supportive, values-led culture built around long-term sustainability
  • Clear opportunities to progress as the organisation continues to grow
  • An Accredited Living Wage Employer committed to investing in its people
  • Enhanced annual leave that increases with length of service

We are looking for an experienced Registered Manager with a genuine passion for delivering outstanding care and creating environments where children can thrive. You will have:

  • Experience as a Registered Manager within children's residential care
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
  • Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations and safeguarding practice
  • Experience leading and developing successful residential teams
  • Confidence managing quality, compliance and performance
  • A therapeutic, child-focused approach to leadership

You will also bring:

  • Calm, reflective and emotionally resilient leadership
  • The ability to build positive, trusting relationships with children, families and professionals
  • A collaborative leadership style that supports and develops others
  • A commitment to creating stable, nurturing environments where children can achieve positive outcomes

This is an opportunity to join a provider at an exciting stage of growth while still benefiting from the close support that comes with being part of a smaller organisation. You will receive:

  • Salary up to £70,000
  • Performance bonus taking earnings to £85,000 OTE
  • The opportunity to establish and lead a brand new home
  • Strong senior leadership support and shared accountability
  • Excellent funded training and leadership development
  • Enhanced annual leave increasing with service
  • Career progression as the organisation expands
  • A values-led culture focused on supporting and retaining its leaders

If you are an experienced Registered Manager looking to build something meaningful with a provider that values sustainable leadership, we would love to hear from you.
