Registered Manager Bedford EBD Home Up to 3 children (currently a solo placement). Our client currently operates three children’s homes, all rated Good, and is in the process of registering a fourth. They are now seeking a Registered Manager for one of their Bedford homes. This is a small, EBD service registered for up to three children. At present, it is operating as a solo placement, offering stability and focused support. The wider organisation is established, values-led and experienced in achieving and maintaining positive outcomes.
Introduction
This is a leadership role designed to be sustainable. You will not be stepping into a crisis setting or inheriting instability. Instead, you will join a provider with a track record of Good outcomes, clear structures, and an approach that values steady, thoughtful leadership. The home is small by design, allowing you to lead with presence and consistency. You will be supported by an engaged Responsible Individual and a wider leadership structure that understands the realities of residential care.
About the Role
- Lead and manage a 3-bed EBD children’s home (currently supporting one young person)
- Provide consistent, calm leadership to staff and young people
- Oversee care planning, safeguarding and quality assurance processes
- Develop and supervise your team, creating a reflective and accountable culture
- Ensure regulatory compliance with the backing of senior leadership
- Contribute to the provider’s continued growth as they register their fourth home
This role carries responsibility, but not isolation. You will have clear oversight, access to senior support and shared accountability.

About You
Experience & Qualifications:
- Level 3 in Residential Childcare (Level 5 preferred or working towards)
- Experience within children’s residential care
- Previous leadership experience as a Deputy Manager or Registered Manager
- Confident understanding of safeguarding and Ofsted regulations

- Emotionally resilient and reflective
