Children’s Residential Services supporting young people with emotional and behavioural needs.

This is an opportunity for an experienced Registered Manager to take on a wider leadership role without stepping away from support, structure or shared accountability. Working across a small cluster of children’s homes in the Torquay and Paignton area, this Peripatetic Manager role is about stability, oversight and development rather than firefighting. You’ll be part of an established regional leadership team, providing continuity and guidance to homes at different stages of development, with clear backing from senior colleagues. The focus is on quality, sustainability and relationships, ensuring homes are supported to deliver safe, consistent care for young people.

About the Role:

  • Providing registered leadership oversight across a defined group of children’s homes
  • Supporting existing Home Managers and leadership teams to maintain standards and stability
  • Acting as Designated Safeguarding Lead for the services within your remit, with appropriate senior support
  • Working alongside the Regional Manager and Assistant Regional Managers to support new home development and service improvement
  • Offering practical guidance, mentoring and leadership support to managers and staff
  • Oversight of care quality, safeguarding practice and regulatory compliance
  • Building and maintaining positive working relationships with Local Authorities, health, education and other professionals
  • Contributing to audits, quality assurance and service development in a supportive, structured way

About You:

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare
  • Registered Manager experience within children’s residential care
  • Sound understanding of the Quality Standards, SCCIF and safeguarding requirements
  • Confidence supporting and guiding managers and leadership teams
