The purpose of the Supply and Inventory Planning Manager is to manage people, processes and systems across supply and inventory planning to ensure ELEMIS have the right product, in the right place at the right time to achieve commercial goals. This role will develop and own the supply and inventory plan for products and/or vendors based on demand plan, lead-times and available inventory, ensuring the availability of finished goods throughout the network. This role reports to the Supply and Inventory Planning Manager and is a leadership position that directly supports and coaches all team members, aligning the team's effort to deliver the bigger picture goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supply Planning
    • Manage the Supply Planning process flow for the Global Supply Planning Team to ensure milestones are achieved on time.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to model scenarios, recommend planning strategies, establish inventory targets and execute the plan.
    • Convert Demand Plans into a Supply and Inventory Plan for the Elemis network.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to ensure the plan is managed according to constraints and aligned with business strategy.
    • Review safety stock settings and replenishment quantity, considering lead times.
    • Manage and mitigate Out of Stock (OOS) / supply risks.
    • Manage, mitigate and report on Excess and Obsolete (E&O) inventory.
    • Support implementation and drive Supplier Collaborative Planning practices.
    • Negotiate with Vendors on costs and lead-times.
    • Support the on-time launch of NPD.
    • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs).
    • Assess current processes and lead improvements in planning tools, reporting, and workflows to improve efficiency.
  • Production Planning
    • Support the Production Planner to develop and maintain production schedules for kitting (in-house gift packing), ensuring alignment with customer demand.
    • Collaborate with the quality control team to ensure all gift sets meet the company's quality standards.
    • Manage inventory levels of finished goods and packing materials, ensuring optimal stock levels to meet production requirements.
    • Analyse production data and generate reports to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
    • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to provide updates on production status and address any concerns.
    • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production processes and reduce costs.
  • Sales and Operations Planning
    • Own the Supply Review, Key Supplier Review and Production Review as part of the S&OP process.
    • Make recommendations to enhance business processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiencies and cash flow.
  • People Leadership
    • Coach your team offering support and encouragement to navigate challenges and changes that arise.
    • Promote a culture of continuous learning: create a safe space to make mistakes, share knowledge, to improve and grow with us.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Analytical: Ability to synthesise large sets of data, translating these into supply and demand plans, modelling data into scenarios, and applying insight to deliver KPIs.
  • Planning expertise: Highly skilled in Inventory Optimisation, Capacity Planning, Constraint management and S&OP.
  • Strategy design and delivery: Input and influence the Planning and Supply strategy, prioritises workload, translates business goals into actions, manages business cycles and key milestones according to timelines.
  • System Expert: Comfortable utilising tools and systems to their full capability to support key processes with improved accuracy and speed.
  • Problem Solving: Able to anticipate potential risks, consult with stakeholders and offer considered solutions to mitigate risks, navigate complexities in the supply chain with sensible judgement; remove friction for the department and team members.
  • Negotiation: Pays attention to detail in how we work with suppliers and vendors; influences decisions and is comfortable making difficult decisions.
  • Collaboration: Builds open, transparent relationships with internal and external stakeholders, respects the impact of the department on other teams, and builds credibility.
  • Leadership: Leads from the front to inspire and motivate the team, coaches team members, encourages ownership and accountability, and promotes a safe learning space.
  • Adaptability: Adapts to change and uncertainty, helping to manage change with minimal disruption.
