You will support the Decommissioning Project Manager to deliver Integrated and EPRD decommissioning scopes.
Key Duties & Accountabilities:
- Project support across all Decommissioning project phases from bid development to execution & close out, including:
- Interface management; technical / contractual / PM and Control.
- Preparation of scopes of work, technical input to request for quotation (RFQ).
- Preparation of project management and technical deliverables.
- Discipline Engineering and construction engineering oversight and coordination.
- Technical and functional coordination including HSEQ, commercial, subcontracts.
- Technical, engineering, and construction query management.
- Risk and Change Management.
- Internal and External Updates and Reports.
- Schedule Control.
- Budget Control.
- Take responsibility for specific project activities or work packages (commensurate with experience and project needs).
- Work closely with discipline engineers and technical leads to guide task prioritisation and ensure timely delivery of scope, acting on behalf of the Project Manager as required.
- Ensure, and make visible, readiness to deliver across engineering, design, construction and execution.
- Coordinate interfaces with subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure alignment of deliverables and expectations.
- Track and manage project actions, decisions, and interfaces through structured registers and close-out tools.
- Deliver and support the preparation, review, and maintenance of key project documentation including project estimates, execution plans, method statements, risk registers, and change logs.
- Assist in developing and implementing project control processes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of progress, risks, and deviations.
- Participate in HSEQ reviews, lessons learned sessions, and project assurance activities.
- Attend and contribute to regular project meetings (internal and external), taking and managing minutes, actions, and updates where applicable.
Person Specification:
Knowledge & Qualifications:
- A working understanding of offshore oil & gas operations and decommissioning practices.
- Knowledge of good project management principles; training or certification will be advantageous.
- Awareness of HSE requirements and risk assessment principles.
Skills:
- Highly organised, with strong attention to detail and an ability to manage multiple work fronts concurrently.
- Proactive and self-motivated, with a hands-on approach to problem-solving and delivery.
- Clear communicator, both written and verbal, with the ability to tailor messaging to different stakeholders.
- Discipline or construction engineering background.
- Good working knowledge of project management principles, particularly:
- Decommissioning methods.
- Interface management.
- Management of change.
- Action tracking and closure.
- Risk and issue management.
- Project controls and reporting.
Experience:
- Experience in an engineering or project delivery environment, ideally within the energy, marine, or infrastructure sectors.
- Experience at a Tier 1 or 2 Contractor is advantageous.
- Experience of structural engineering is advantageous.
- Experience of decommissioning, offshore construction, and late-life asset management.
- Experience supporting multidisciplinary project teams and contributing to planning, reporting, and coordination tasks.
- Demonstrated ability to manage deliverables against deadlines and support project documentation and control processes.
- Prior involvement in contractor or supplier engagement is a plus.
