The IT Support Analyst will primarily operate as a 2nd and 3rd line resource. The role covers day-to-day operations across a broad technical estate — including Microsoft 365, Azure, Intune-managed endpoints, and specialist engineering software common to subsurface disciplines — and supports the company’s ISO27001 compliance programme and ongoing security and service improvement initiatives.

- End-User Support & Modern Workplace: Support Windows 11 devices, Microsoft 365 applications, hardware, peripherals, and connectivity. Deliver clear communication and timely resolution to end users.
- M365 Administration: Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams — including user management and permissions.
- Endpoint Management (Intune): Support device and mobile management through Intune, including app deployment, compliance policies, Autopilot provisioning, security baselines, and patch management.
- Applications & Packaged Software: Maintain and troubleshoot packaged applications deployed via Intune, including engineering and business applications. Update vendor licenses where required. Support for AVD sessions, including basic image maintenance and user access troubleshooting.
- Engineering Software Support: Support the installation of our engineering applications commonly found within subsurface environments.
- Infrastructure & Networking: Support VPN configuration, remote access and cloud/on-premises storage management. Escalate complex issues to third-party providers where appropriate.
- Storage & File Services: Provide support for cloud and on-premises storage systems. Ensure access permissions are maintained, support file recovery requests, and monitor storage utilisation.
- ISO27001 Alignment: Support the IT Manager with ongoing ISO27001 alignment and maintenance activities, including evidence gathering, control testing, and contributing to the improvement of security policies and procedures.
- IT Asset Management: Maintain accurate records of hardware, software licences, and renewal dates. Manage device lifecycle including procurement, deployment, and disposal.
- Documentation & Knowledge Base: Own and maintain IT runbooks, process documentation, and the internal knowledge base to ensure continuity of service and support business resilience.
Person Specification
- Knowledge & Qualifications: Relevant Microsoft certification (e.g. MD-102, MS-102, or AZ-900) desirable but not essential. Familiarity with FlexLM, RLM, or Sentinel-based software licence management (relevant to engineering application support). Exposure to ISO27001 implementation or security-related training.
- Skills: Experience with IT migration activities (e.g. company acquisitions). Strong documentation skills and a habit of maintaining clear, accessible runbooks and user guides. SharePoint and Teams groups administration.
- Experience: Significant demonstrable experience in an IT support role within a Microsoft 365 modern workplace environment. Previous experience working in a small or lean IT environment (SME or start-up) where broad ownership and self-sufficiency were required. Hands-on experience with Intune device management and application deployment. Experience troubleshooting Windows OS, VPNs, and Office applications. Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, owning issues from triage through to resolution.
