This full-cycle role offers significant variety and will be responsible for preparing financial reports, analysing financial data and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

They will also work closely with senior management and other departments to provide financial guidance and support for business decisions.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ownership of the preparation of smaller business units’ monthly management accounts.
  • Preparing Balance Sheet reconciliation for multiple entities.
  • Preparing variance analysis against budgets and forecasts.
  • Analysing transactions in revenue, cost of sales and overheads categories.
  • Inter-company activity analysis and reconciliation, raising of inter-company invoices.
  • Liaising with external accountants on reconciling transactions for overseas entities.
  • Assisting with local audits and corporation tax preparations for overseas entities.
  • Preparation of UK Group VAT returns.
  • Assist in implementing financial policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Ensuring compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and legal requirements.
  • Assisting with the Group audit functions and corporation tax queries.
  • Providing financial guidance and support to senior management and project teams.
  • Identifying and evaluating financial risks and opportunities.
  • Liaising with external stakeholders such as banks, auditors, investors, and regulations.

Person Specification

Knowledge & Qualifications

  • Working towards an accounting qualification.
  • Experience with accounting software is essential.

Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
