Elementa Support Services is pleased to partner with a valued education organisation to find a dedicated Contract Caretaker for their secondary academy in Melksham, Wiltshire. Position Overview
Our client is seeking a reliable and proactive Caretaker to join their dedicated facilities team on a contract basis. The role commences in January 2026, with the potential for extension, providing stability and continuity within a supportive school setting.
Role Responsibilities
- General maintenance and upkeep of school premises, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for pupils and staff
- Security management, including opening and closing the site, monitoring access, and ensuring security protocols are followed
- Health and safety compliance, conducting regular checks and reporting any issues promptly
- Assisting with minor repairs and maintenance tasks as required
- Supporting the external and internal cleanliness and organisation of the site
Candidate Profile
We are looking for a candidate with:
- Previous experience as a Caretaker, ideally within an educational setting or similar facility-managed environment
- A demonstrated commitment to maintaining high standards of safety, security, and presentation
- Strong organisational skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Good communication skills, with the ability to work as part of a team and independently as needed

- Salary: £13.69 – £17 per hour, dependent on experience and qualifications

- Environment: Academy-Secondary, with a team of 36-65 staff members
