Elementa is recruiting for a Thrive Teacher to work within a specialist SEND and SEMH provision in Dorking, Surrey.

Location: Dorking, Surrey; Pay: £169–£230 per day; Type: Temporary (possible permanent); Hours: Full‑time; Start Date: ASAP.

This role supports secondary-aged students who have experienced trauma, adverse childhood experiences and significant barriers to learning. Many students have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) relating to SEMH needs and may present with challenging behaviour.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver targeted Thrive‑based interventions and personalised learning support.
  • Teach and support students on a 1:1, 2:1 or small group basis.
  • Promote emotional regulation, resilience and social development.
  • Support students with reintegration into learning and wider school life.
  • Work collaboratively with pastoral teams, therapists and external professionals.
  • Use positive behaviour strategies and restorative approaches.
  • Monitor, record and report on student progress and wellbeing.
  • Maintain strong safeguarding practices and professional boundaries.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Experience working within SEND, SEMH or alternative provision settings.
  • Understanding of trauma‑informed and attachment‑aware practice.
  • Experience supporting children with challenging behaviour.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and educational processes.
  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
  • Thrive Practitioner training or experience is highly advantageous.
  • QTS/QTLS or relevant teaching experience desirable.
  • A DBS on the Update Service is preferable to support a quicker start date.
