Currently, we are seeking a dedicated Nurture Teacher to join a well-established Academy-SEND in Dorking, Surrey. About the Role
As a Contract Nurture Teacher, you will work within a supportive team to implement tailored educational programmes for pupils with Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Your role will involve creating a nurturing classroom environment that encourages social and emotional development, supporting learners to thrive both academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver personalised learning activities tailored to SEMH pupils’ needs
- Foster a safe, caring, and supportive classroom environment
- Work closely with school staff and external professionals to support pupils’ well-being and progress
- Monitor and record pupil development and behaviour, ensuring high standards of pastoral support
- Promote positive behavioural and social skills, encouraging pupils’ confidence and independence
Candidate Profile
We are seeking a qualified teacher with QTS or QTLS status who has demonstrable experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs. The ideal candidate will possess a nurturing approach, strong behavioural management skills, and a genuine commitment to supporting pupils' emotional development.
About the Organisation
This Academy-SEND setting employs between 36 and 65 staff and specialises in providing educational support tailored to students with SEND, particularly SEMH needs. They are dedicated to creating a compassionate and empowering environment where learners can develop resilience, confidence, and independence.

Elementa is committed to the safeguarding of children in all of their processes and all successful applicants will have a full-prescreen to assess their suitability for the role. Any appointment will be subject to a successful interview process, satisfactory references, Safeguarding & Prevent training, DBS Enhanced Disclosure (which may be chargeable at £64.20 unless you have a DBS subscribed to the Update Service) and successful completion of (12 week / 60 paid day) employment trial period.
