Elementa are recruiting for an SEMH/SCLN Learning Support Assistant for this Special Provision in Taunton, that caters for children age 11-16. The children who attend the academy will have an EHCP to support their SEMH (Social Emotional Mental Health) and SCL (Speech Communication Language) needs. Your role will be to support the teaching staff, in providing a high quality provision for all young people.
This can be a difficult place to work, with some children having challenging behaviour, that would need a level of experience to be able to deal with the day-to-day challenges this role may bring. Previous experience of working in a specialist provision, or similar would be essential.
Due to the levels of support required by the school, a DBS on the update service would be needed.
