Elementa is recruiting for a Deputy Programme Lead of Maths for this popular Secondary School in Weston-super-Mare. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity for an experienced and motivated Maths professional looking to take the next step in their leadership career.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the leadership and development of the Maths department, contributing to high-quality teaching, curriculum planning, and student achievement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Programme Lead in the leadership and management of the Maths department.
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality Maths lessons across Key Stages.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing effective feedback and intervention strategies.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and assessment planning within the department.
  • Mentor and support colleagues to promote high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
  • Work collaboratively with senior leaders and departmental staff to drive continuous improvement.
  • Keep up to date with developments in the Maths curriculum and implement innovative teaching approaches.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS).
  • Proven experience teaching Maths at secondary level.
  • Experience in, or readiness for, a leadership or management role within a department.
  • Strong subject knowledge and passion for Mathematics education.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to raising standards and inspiring students.
