Elementa is recruiting for a Deputy Programme Lead of Maths for this popular Secondary School in Weston-super-Mare. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity for an experienced and motivated Maths professional looking to take the next step in their leadership career.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the leadership and development of the Maths department, contributing to high-quality teaching, curriculum planning, and student achievement.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Programme Lead in the leadership and management of the Maths department.
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality Maths lessons across Key Stages.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing effective feedback and intervention strategies.
- Contribute to curriculum development and assessment planning within the department.
- Mentor and support colleagues to promote high standards of teaching and learning.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
- Work collaboratively with senior leaders and departmental staff to drive continuous improvement.
- Keep up to date with developments in the Maths curriculum and implement innovative teaching approaches.
Qualifications and Experience
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS).
- Proven experience teaching Maths at secondary level.
- Experience in, or readiness for, a leadership or management role within a department.
- Strong subject knowledge and passion for Mathematics education.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
- A commitment to raising standards and inspiring students.
