Our client is an Alternative Education Provision service based in Thrapston, currently serving primary-aged learners. The parent education group supports primary, secondary and post-16 aged learners across their multiple sites with their main headquarters based in Weston Super Mare. The learners they support all have an EHCP relating mainly to Autism, SEMH and trauma.
They operate a ‘revolving-door’ offering whereby students stay at the provision for up to 18 weeks, either on a full-time or part-time basis before returning to mainstream education or attending a special school. Elmtree Learning Partnership have successfully supported learners at their other sites since 2022.
We are recruiting additional staff for the Willow Tree Learning site in Thrapston that currently support primary-aged learners. They support between x5 - x10 learners onsite and will also be starting to support secondary aged learners at a new local site, anticipated after Easter 2026.
The Thrapston site core business hours are 9:00am - 3:00pm, Monday to Friday and a full working day is 6 hours. Learning is delivered on a term-time only basis. Across the service, all learning packages are individual to the learner and therefore the hours available are as-specified however, we always welcome applications from anyone with the appropriate skills & experience.
For the Academic Tutor/Mentor role we’re seeking applicants that (ideally) have a teaching qualification, and ideally hold QTS with experience of the UK National Curriculum. Your experience should include having worked with secondary-aged learners.
Essential criteria:
- Teaching qualification
- Secondary age range experience
- Willingness to teach secondary-aged learners (working below their age group level)
- Available for the full contracted hours for the duration of the contract
- Previous relevant SEND experience
