We are pleased to partner with a dedicated education company based in Wimbledon, London, to recruit a Contract SEND Teacher specialising in primary-aged learners with complex needs. This is a valuable opportunity for an experienced teacher committed to supporting pupils with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and associated special educational needs.

Position Details

  • Start Date: September 2026
  • Location: Wimbledon, London
  • Salary: £168- £243 per day (TBC)

About the Role

This contract role is based within a sympathetic and specialised academy environment dedicated to SEND education. The successful candidate will provide tailored teaching and support to primary pupils with MLD, SLD, PMLD, and complex communication needs such as SLCN. Your expertise will help create a nurturing and stimulating environment, fostering meaningful learning experiences for pupils with diverse needs.

Candidate Profile

  • Hold QTS / QTLS status within the UK education system
  • Proven experience working with learners with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)
  • Understanding of Special Educational Needs, with a focus on complex needs and communication challenges
  • Empathetic, patient, and adaptable approach to teaching
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a dedicated team

Candidate Commitment

  • Weekly pay – no waiting for monthly payroll cut off dates, Elementa pays one week in lieu.
  • PAYE contract – unless a candidate specifically requests it, all candidates are paid via PAYE giving them the protections and payment structure of a traditional employer:employee relationship.
  • Training & Support – a broad range of free or heavily discounted training available including Safeguarding, Behaviour, Team Teach, SEND, Makaton and Thrive.
  • Regular welfare contact and support from a dedicated candidate manager.
  • Fair pay policy – our candidates are paid to scale, where a variation on this may be required written agreement will be provided ahead of the position.
  • Additional services to support our staff – we have a network of partners who offer support services to our candidates … tax returns, accountancy, legal and more.
