We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Primary Class Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in Bath and North East Somerset from September. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a supportive school community, teaching a mixed Key Stage 2 class of 14 pupils across Years 3, 4, 5 and 6.

The role would suit a confident primary teacher who enjoys the variety and rewards of teaching within a mixed-age classroom. You will be responsible for planning, delivering engaging lessons, assessing pupils' progress and marking work. A wide range of planning resources is available, and the Headteacher provides ongoing support to ensure you feel well-equipped in the role.

The class includes pupils with a range of SEND needs. One pupil has an EHCP and is supported by a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant, while another currently attends on a part-time timetable. The school is committed to providing an inclusive environment where every child can succeed.

We are looking for a qualified Primary Teacher who is adaptable, nurturing and committed to helping every pupil reach their full potential. Whether you are an experienced class teacher or an established KS2 practitioner looking for a rewarding new challenge, we would love to hear from you.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching within a primary school setting, ideally in KS2
  • A strong understanding of the Key Stage 2 curriculum
  • The ability to plan engaging lessons that meet the needs of mixed-age and mixed-ability learners
  • Experience supporting pupils with a range of additional learning needs, or a willingness to develop this further
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
  • A calm, patient and resilient approach to teaching
  • Strong communication, organisation and teamwork skills
  • A genuine passion for making a positive difference to children's learning and wellbeing

The school is proud of its caring ethos and wonderful pupils. As with many small schools, the role requires flexibility, collaboration and a willingness to contribute to the wider life of the school. Staff work closely together and share responsibilities throughout the school day, including break and lunchtime duties.

Due to the school's rural location within Bath and North East Somerset, access to your own transport is essential, as there is limited public transport. This is an excellent opportunity for a committed Primary Teacher who enjoys building strong relationships, values community and is looking to make a genuine impact within a supportive and welcoming school.
