About the Role
Elementa Wales is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher of Science to work with schools across Cardiff. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Science teacher looking to make a positive impact on pupils’ learning and development while enjoying flexible teaching opportunities.
In this role, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective Science lessons, helping pupils develop their scientific knowledge, practical skills and confidence, and ensuring they receive high-quality teaching and support.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging Science lessons in line with the relevant curriculum.
- Plan and adapt lessons to support pupils of different abilities and learning needs.
- Deliver and supervise practical scientific activities safely and effectively.
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively and create a positive learning environment.
- Assess and monitor pupil progress, providing appropriate feedback and support.
- Work collaboratively with school staff to support pupil progress and achievement.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching Science at secondary school level.
- Strong subject knowledge in Biology, Chemistry and/or Physics.
- Strong knowledge of the Science curriculum.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- A positive, flexible and professional approach.
Desirable
- Experience teaching Science across Key Stages 3 and 4, including supporting pupils towards GCSE examinations (beneficial but not essential).
