Geography Teacher

Type: Contract / Long-term / Supply (depending on availability)

Location: Caerphilly & surrounding areas

Start date: ASAP

Hours: Full-time (part-time considered)

Pay: Paid to scale (MPS/UPS, dependent on experience)

Are you a passionate Geography Teacher who believes in the power of geography to inspire curiosity about the world, deepen environmental understanding, and develop global citizens? Elementa Support Services is working in partnership with supportive and forward-thinking secondary schools to recruit enthusiastic and knowledgeable Teachers of Geography who can deliver engaging, dynamic lessons across the curriculum. This role offers the opportunity to inspire young people to explore physical and human geography, understand global challenges, and achieve their full potential within a positive learning environment.

About the Role

  • Plan and deliver engaging Geography lessons in line with the national curriculum
  • Teach across key stages, covering topics such as physical landscapes, climate change, urbanisation, sustainability, and global development
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment
  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress effectively
  • Promote safeguarding, wellbeing, and positive behaviour at all times
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to the wider school community

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Education Workforce Council (EWC) registration
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply (Elementa can assist)
  • Experience teaching Geography at secondary level (including placements)
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills

Desirable

  • Experience across KS3 and KS4
  • Experience delivering fieldwork and enquiry-based learning
  • A reflective and adaptable teaching approach
