About the Role

• Deliver engaging pre-planned lessons in the absence of the classroom teacher
• Lead classrooms with confidence, ensuring pupils remain focused, motivated and on task
• Support positive behaviour and create a productive learning environment
• Encourage pupils to participate, achieve and enjoy learning
• Gain experience across a range of subjects and year groups in supportive secondary schools
• Build valuable classroom management skills that will give you a head start on your PGCE
• Become an important part of school communities across the Vale of Glamorgan

Who We're Looking For

• Hold (or are due to achieve) a degree in any subject
• Are considering a PGCE or a long-term career in education
• Are confident communicators with excellent interpersonal skills
• Can think on their feet and remain calm under pressure
• Are positive, reliable and adaptable
• Enjoy working with young people and helping them succeed
• Have experience working with children or young people (desirable but not essential)

Essential Requirements

• Be registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) in the appropriate category as a School Learning Support Worker (Elementa can guide you through the registration process if required)
• Hold a current Enhanced DBS Certificate registered with the DBS Update Service, or be willing to obtain one through Elementa
• Have the right to work in the UK
• Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
