About the role

Elementa Wales is seeking a confident and reliable cover supervisor who can maintain purposeful learning to work with schools across Cardiff. This is an excellent opportunity to make a positive impact while enjoying flexible work.

In this role, you will be responsible for supervising classes during teacher absence, delivering prepared work and maintaining a calm, focused classroom environment, ensuring pupils receive high-quality learning and support.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise classes and deliver work prepared by the absent teacher.
• Give clear instructions and keep pupils focused on the set learning.
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
• Record attendance, report concerns and provide feedback to teaching staff.

Requirements

• Experience working with children or young people, ideally in a secondary setting.
• Confidence leading a classroom and following prepared lesson materials.
• Strong behaviour management, communication and organisational skills.
• A positive, flexible and professional approach.

Desirable

• A relevant degree, school-based experience
• Knowledge of the Curriculum for Wales. (beneficial but not essential).
