We're currently looking for a dedicated ALN Teacher to support learners across the Vale of Glamorgan, helping them overcome barriers, build confidence, and achieve their full potential.
The Role
As an ALN Teacher, you'll play a vital role in creating engaging, inclusive learning experiences for pupils with a range of additional learning needs. Every day is different, offering the opportunity to use your creativity, patience, and expertise to help young people succeed both academically and personally. Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to meet individual learning needs
- Creating a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom where every learner feels supported and valued
- Assessing pupil progress and adapting teaching strategies to maximise achievement
- Working collaboratively with teaching assistants, SENCOs, parents, carers, and external agencies
- Supporting pupils with a range of additional learning needs, including social, emotional, and behavioural challenges where appropriate
- Promoting positive behaviour, confidence, independence, and resilience
- Maintaining accurate records and adhering to safeguarding and school policies at all times
We're looking for someone who has:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Previous experience working with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) learners
- Experience working within an Alternative Provision setting (highly desirable)
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one β we can help!)
- EWC Registration (or willingness to register)
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- A patient, adaptable, and compassionate approach to teaching
- A genuine passion for helping every learner achieve their full potential
