Our new special school for learners in year groups 6-9 (ages 11-14) is scheduled to open in September 2026 pending DFE approval on an existing, purpose built school site. At that point the site should already have been operating as an Alternative Education Provision service. Elmtree Sands School will open based on the successes of learner outcomes at our 9 Elmtree Learning Partnership sites and Independent SEND School (Elmtree Grove School) which have been operating since 2022. Initially, we will be supporting up to 28 learners with a view to gradually increasing learner capacity in the future. All of the learners we support are vulnerable and have an EHCP to define their additional needs or an EHCP in progress. Creativity, perseverance and an empathetic approach when working with them is key to engaging them in education and ensuring their progression.

We are inviting anybody interested and with relevant previous experience to arrange a visit to the school site on Wednesday 27th May 2026, between 9:00am - 5:00pm, and speak with the team about the future plans and roles that we're recruiting for. You must book an appointment and have your suitability assessed in advance to be able to attend.
