Outreach Mentor/LSA
Location: Bristol Kingswood
Pay: Β£122.80 per day + mileage
Type: Contract (perm possible)

Elementa is recruiting for Learning Support Assistants/Mentors, for a range of specialist provisions in the Redland area of Bristol. These provisions support children who may have been excluded from mainstream school, or who have specific learning needs that make it difficult for them to succeed in a mainstream school. The school is looking for candidates who have experience with SEND, including Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) and challenging behaviour. If you have previous experience as a Youth Worker, support worker, LSA, in outreach and mentoring, or have a sporting background, the school would welcome your application.
The children you will be working with have faced a variety of challenges and difficulties in their lives, meaning they often dis-regulate and display challenging behaviour. The candidates we are looking for will have a strong background in a similar setting, or have experience in youth support and mentoring, and be able to create strong relationships and be able relate to the difficulties the children face.
This role will be a mixture of in setting support and also taking learners to external activities, such as sports clubs, gyms and similar. This does mean a driving licence and business insurance is essential for the role (travel expenses will be subsidised). You would be working on 1:1 basis with the learner, including picking them up from home each morning and taking them home again at the end of the day.
