Are you an enthusiastic Welsh Teacher passionate about promoting the Welsh language and culture? Do you inspire young people to develop confidence in speaking, reading, and writing Welsh while fostering a love of language learning?

Elementa Support Services is working in partnership with a supportive and forward-thinking secondary school in Powys to recruit a knowledgeable and committed Teacher of Welsh. This is an exciting opportunity to engage students through creative and inspiring lessons in a positive and inclusive learning environment.

About the Role
  • Plan and deliver engaging Welsh lessons in line with the national curriculum
  • Teach across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable where applicable)
  • Develop students’ speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills in Welsh
  • Promote Welsh culture, heritage, and language development across the school community
  • Create engaging and differentiated lessons that support learners of varying abilities
  • Foster confidence, communication skills, and a positive attitude towards language learning
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment
  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress effectively
  • Promote safeguarding, wellbeing, and positive behaviour at all times
  • Contribute to departmental planning and the wider school community
What We’re Looking For
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Education Workforce Council (EWC) registration
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply (Elementa can assist)
  • Experience teaching Welsh at secondary level (including placements)
  • Strong subject knowledge and confident classroom management skills
  • Fluency in spoken and written Welsh
  • Desirable: Experience teaching KS5 Welsh or Welsh Second Language
  • A reflective and adaptable teaching approach
  • A passion for promoting bilingualism and Welsh culture
This Role Is Not Suitable For Applicants:
  • Without fluency in spoken and written Welsh
  • Not currently based within the UK
  • Requiring employer sponsorship for UK right to work
  • Without UK secondary school teaching experience
