Are you confident working with children, reliable, and passionate about supporting education? Elementa Support Services is working in partnership with primary and secondary schools across Wales to recruit enthusiastic and dependable Cover Supervisors. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to gain hands‑on classroom experience, support continuity of learning, and make a real impact within English-medium or bilingual settings.
About the Role
- Deliver pre‑planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher
- Maintain positive classroom behaviour and a focused learning environment
- Support pupils’ learning and engagement across a range of subjects
- Communicate confidently in English to support classroom learning
- Follow safeguarding procedures and school policies at all times
- Provide feedback to teaching staff following lessons
What We’re Looking For
Required:
- Experience working with children or young people (school‑based experience desirable)
- Strong classroom presence and confidence managing groups
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply (Elementa can assist)
- Education Workforce Council (EWC) registration, or willingness to register
Desirable:
- Experience within English‑medium or bilingual education
- A proactive and adaptable approach to classroom support
- Interest in progressing into teacher training or a PGCE
Recruitment
- Elementa pays one week in lieu PAYE contract – unless requested otherwise, providing full employment protections
- Training any variation agreed in writing prior to placement
- Additional staff support services – access to partner services including tax returns, accountancy, legal advice, and more
