Location: Cardiff and surrounding areas

Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday (term time only)

Salary: £80-100 per day

Start date: ASAP

Essential: Fluent Welsh speaker, DBS & EWC registration (or willing to apply)

Are you passionate about supporting children in a Welsh-medium primary school? Our client is looking for a friendly, motivated General Teaching Assistant to join their welcoming and supportive team. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference to pupils’ learning and wellbeing in a nurturing environment.

As a TA, you will:

  • Support learning in small groups and 1:1, across the school
  • Help pupils with additional learning needs or emotional/behavioural barriers
  • Engage parents and collaborate with external agencies to support pupils
  • Contribute to creating a positive, inclusive school environment
  • Take part in training and development opportunities

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working with children (school, childcare, or community settings)
  • Is patient, enthusiastic, and a positive role model
  • Has excellent teamwork and communication skills
  • Is committed to safeguarding and inclusive practice
  • Is willing to undertake further training (SEND, THRIVE, Team Teach, etc.)

Application Process

All applications will be managed by Elementa as the recruitment partner for this client. Elementa is committed to the safeguarding of children in all of their processes and all successful applicants will have a full pre-screen to assess suitability. Appointment is subject to:

  • Successful interview
  • Satisfactory references
  • Safeguarding & Prevent training
  • EWC registration in the appropriate categories
  • DBS Enhanced Disclosure (chargeable at £64.20 unless subscribed to the Update Service)
  • Successful completion of the 60-day paid trial period
