We are seeking caring, reliable, and enthusiastic individuals to join our team as SEND Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) in schools across Bath and North East Somerset. This is a general recruitment advert for candidates who are passionate about supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to achieve their full potential. This role is ideal for experienced SEND Learning Support Assistants, Teaching Assistants, Support Workers, Care Workers, or individuals with transferable experience supporting children, young people, or vulnerable adults who are looking to build a rewarding career within education.

Responsibilities:

  • Helping pupils access learning and participate fully in school life.
  • Providing one-to-one or small group support.
  • Assisting pupils with additional learning, communication, social, emotional or physical needs.
  • Implementing Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
  • Supporting positive behaviour.
  • Working closely with teachers and other professionals to create an inclusive and nurturing learning environment.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient and adaptable approach.
  • A genuine commitment to promoting the wellbeing, independence and progress of every pupil.
  • Confidence in building positive relationships with children, staff and families.
  • An understanding of safeguarding responsibilities is essential.
  • Previous experience working within a school is desirable but not essential.
