This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified English teacher looking to make a positive impact on pupils' learning and development while enjoying flexible teaching opportunities.

In this role, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective English lessons, supporting pupils to develop their skills and confidence in the subject, and ensuring they receive high-quality teaching and support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging English lessons in line with the relevant curriculum.
  • Plan and adapt lessons to support pupils of different abilities and learning needs.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively and create a positive learning environment.
  • Assess and monitor pupil progress, providing appropriate feedback and support.
  • Work collaboratively with school staff to support pupil progress and achievement.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching English at secondary school level.
  • Strong knowledge of the English curriculum.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • A positive, flexible and professional approach.

Desirable

  • Experience teaching English across Key Stages 3 and 4, including supporting pupils towards GCSE examinations (beneficial but not essential).
