Warringtonfire, part of Element, is hiring a Product Assessor to join our Technical team. The role can be based at our Warrington site or anywhere within the UK, working from home.
Responsibilities
- Plan fire resistance test programmes in liaison with clients and relevant testing departments.
- Review audit and sampling reports, fire and non-fire test reports, product technical documentation for technical compliance in line with relevant standards.
- Prepare technical engineering reports and make technical judgments within fire protection product sectors.
- Respond to and resolve technical and certification enquiries.
- Continuously develop knowledge in national, European and international standards and specifications relating to fire safety.
- Assist in department development β provide ideas and soundboard for new initiatives.
- Prioritise activity to meet customer or business deadlines with autonomy for own work schedule.
- Maintain professional work standards and work with manager, colleagues and team to increase knowledge of role and standards.
Skills & Qualifications
- Ideally educated to engineering degree level or relevant industry experience.
- Understanding of structural elements behaviour under load would be advantageous.
- Able to read and understand technical drawings.
- Exposure within fire industry, building materials, product certification or similar technical industry is advantageous.
- Keen interest in all aspects of fire safety.
- Respond positively to change and prioritise decisions quickly and effectively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent numeracy and strong attention to detail.
