Element Sustainability Ltd. is a successful, well-established provider of technical compliance and sustainability assessment services to the construction and development industry. We have an exciting opportunity for a domestic energy assessor to join our expanding consultant team.
Role: Sustainability Consultant - BREEAM Assessor
Package: £30,000~40,000 salary (commensurate with experience)
Hybrid Working
Responsibilities:
- Delivery of a number of BREEAM and other certification assessments while supporting our team of sustainability consultants.
- Use your expertise to determine appropriate sustainability strategies for schemes across all sectors.
- End-to-end management of client engagement and projects.
- Assist the client in achieving compliance with building regulations, planning policy and sustainability-compliance targets.
- Determine appropriate methodologies / strategies and lead our (in-house and/or sub-contracted) multidisciplinary team of environmental specialists.
- Input to, compilation / review / quality assurance of technical reports and output.
- Report to the company directors and inform administrative and accounting tasks.
- Engage with and manage clients to identify service opportunities.
- Assist with fee proposal preparation.
- Achieve and maintain competency requirements, liaise with clients and seek to ensure a happy working environment.
Candidate Requirements:
- A team player, highly organised, motivated and self-disciplined.
- Experience and appreciation of working in a collaborative working environment.
- Qualified, with demonstrable experience in this sector.
- Commercial awareness of Building Regulations, planning process and construction industry - working knowledge of UK environmental regulatory framework, technical appraisals, compliance targets and sustainability assessment criteria.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
Education, Qualifications & Experience:
- Qualified in BREEAM certification, with a demonstrable track record of having certified buildings and knowledge of/qualification in other certification preferable.
- Educated to a minimum of degree or post graduate level (or equivalent) in a related discipline.
- Professionally qualified through relevant professional body (ISEP/IEMA, CIBSE, LCC etc.)
Computer Skills:
- Computer literate with MS Office skills.
Additional Requirements:
- Full driving licence with less than 3 points.
- Willingness to travel.
- Hybrid working model and potential for flexible hours.
