Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a Site Manager to run our manufacturing facility in Glenrothes. In this role you will be responsible for ensuring the site operates to the highest Environmental, Health & Safety standards, while ensuring products meet the required quality standards and are delivered on time and on cost. The Site Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to continually improve in all these areas. Key functions reporting into the role are Environment, Health & Safety, Quality, Engineering, Production, Production Planning, Distribution Planning, Purchasing, Warehousing & Logistics. The purpose of this position is to lead the team, focus on continuous process improvements and site management. This position allows a maximum of 1 day per week home-office.

What will you be doing?

  • Site & Operations Leadership: Responsible for the overall management of site operations, including production, maintenance, logistics, and utilities, ensuring production targets are achieved in terms of volume, quality, cost, and delivery. Drive process optimization to improve efficiency, yield, and cost performance.
  • Health, Safety, Environment & Quality Compliance: Ensure full compliance with applicable HSE regulations and chemical industry requirements, promoting a strong safety culture and managing risk assessments, incident investigations, and corrective actions. Maintain management systems in line with ISO and IATF certifications and support internal, customer, and regulatory audits in collaboration with the Quality function.
  • People & Performance Management: Lead, develop, and motivate the Operations Management Team to achieve targets in quality, HSE, productivity, and customer satisfaction. Ensure appropriate staffing, training, and competency development while fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture.
  • Financial & Continuous Improvement: Manage the annual operations budget and quarterly forecasts, monitor KPIs, and implement corrective actions. Develop business cases for capital investments and deliver projects on time and within budget, supporting continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean, process optimization, and waste reduction.
  • Cross-Functional & External Collaboration: Act as the primary interface between the site, headquarters, and regional functions. Collaborate with Sales, Technical Service, and Supply Chain teams to support customer needs, and manage relationships with suppliers, contractors, and external partners to optimize site and region.

Who are You?

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering.
  • Over 10+ years of same role experience required.
  • Previous experience in a plant, site and/or production management role with excellent leadership skills.
  • Experience managing complex, varied manufacturing processes.
  • Proven experience of Lean and Six Sigma continuous improvement techniques.
  • A passion for quality, environment, health & safety performance.
  • Strong working knowledge of the chemical sector and/or similar manufacturing environment.
