We are looking for a practical and reliable Multi Trade Operative - In House Maintenance and Repairs to support the day-to-day upkeep of our production site. This is a varied, hands-on role responsible for maintaining buildings, facilities, and common areas, ensuring the site operates safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. The role involves carrying out routine and reactive maintenance tasks across multiple trades, supporting waste management activities, and overseeing contractors working on site.
What will you be doing?
- Carry out a wide range of planned and reactive maintenance tasks, including general building repairs, painting and decorating, basic plumbing, carpentry, tiling, paving, drainage, and external works.
- Maintain building structures, plumbing systems, and drainage, including repairs to WC systems, taps, and unblocking drains.
- Ensure high standards of water hygiene across site facilities.
- Undertake general facilities duties such as furniture assembly and removals, grounds maintenance, site clearance, and keeping communal areas clean and tidy.
- Inspect buildings and equipment for signs of wear or disrepair and carry out appropriate remedial work.
- Manage, clean, and maintain tools, equipment, parts, and materials required for maintenance activities.
- Accurately record work orders, maintenance logs, and stock levels.
- Support the daily separation of waste streams and assist with hazardous waste collections and transfer documentation.
- Ensure all waste is recycled or disposed of in line with current legislation.
- Supervise and coordinate external contractors on site, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, and to a high standard.
- Ensure consistent application of health and safety policies, procedures, and site standards.
- Follow all Health & Safety requirements, including safe working at height and manual handling procedures.
- Prepare equipment and areas for refurbishment, deep cleaning, or surface treatment as required.

- Ability to carry out planned and reactive maintenance tasks independently and to a high standard.
- Willingness and ability to work at height, in line with safety procedures.
- Basic IT skills, with the ability to complete maintenance records, work orders, and documentation accurately.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage priorities and respond to changing demands.
- Good communication skills, with the confidence to work effectively with colleagues and external contractors.
- A proactive, flexible, and hands-on approach, with a strong attention to detail.
