We are seeking a technically skilled and customer-focused Applications Engineer to bridge the gap between product development and real-world application. This role is ideal for someone who combines strong technical knowledge with excellent communication skills and enjoys working closely with customers and internal teams to deliver innovative solutions. You will play a key role in supporting product development, validating performance in customer applications, and providing technical expertise to drive adoption and satisfaction.
As a key member of the Film and Smart Surface Solutions (F&SSS) Team, the Applications Engineer will be responsible for:
- Participating and contributing in new In-Mold Electronics (IME) and Display products testing activities.
- Developing applications knowhow for product evaluation, material testing and characterization, and prototyping.
- Providing applications and technical support to global customers.
What will you be doing?
- With minimal oversight, develop and validate new methods, test vehicles and technologies to characterise our products in line with the Company’s marketing direction for specific customers or market segments.
- Plan and perform internal tests to assess performance such as mechanical, thermal and electrical reliability of product or its prototypes for new applications.
- Demonstrate process feasibility and performance of Film & Smart Surface Solutions materials to customers and partners by performing assembly, performance and reliability testing and failure analyses on internal as well as external test vehicles.
- Investigate and experiment with new technologies or ideas and modify the test to meet the new applications and customer requirements.
- Work with components, equipment vendors, and assembly houses to develop integrated solutions for customers.
- Work closely with Product Management and R&D team to establish plans and execute projects to support customers towards product approvals and launch new products.
- Work across functional lines with quality, process engineering for scale up and testing of new products.
- Report project progress; publish technical papers and make conference presentations materials as needed.
- Calibrate research and test equipment to ensure dependable research results.

- Data Analysis: Proficiency in analysing performance data and preparing technical reports.
- Communication Skills: Ability to create clear documentation and deliver presentations to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Project Management: Skilled in managing application projects and coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with end-use markets such as electronics, coatings, adhesives, or polymers.
- Experience of manufacturing in FIM or Injection Molding.
Education & Experience:
- Level 4: One to two years manufacturing experience in FIM or Injection Molding factory and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Graduate in Science or Engineering or level 5-6: Master or PhD in Science or Engineering with >1 year development experience in industrial/technical field.
