Element Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with a UK leading business with the appointment of a Financial Accountant, to join their team on an initial 12 month contract basis. In this pivotal role, you will take ownership of the balance sheet, cash flow management, and month-end submission processes. Acting as a key pillar in the finance function, you will support external and internal audits, statutory accounts submissions, and tax compliance matters.
Key Responsibilities- Financial Reporting & Month-End: Manage the balance sheet and cash flow, ensuring month-end tasks and international reporting figures (IFRS) are submitted accurately and on time. Oversee quarterly reporting requirements.
- Audit & Compliance: Act as a primary point of contact for the external audit team during year-end, ensuring statutory accounts for all group entities comply with FRS 102 and are submitted on time.
- Taxation & Controls: Collaborate with the specialist tax team on Corporation Tax and VAT matters. Maintain and enhance robust internal systems of financial control.
- Asset & Lease Management: Oversee Capex costs and maintain the integrity of the Fixed Asset Register. Ensure accurate accounting for all leases under IFRS 16.
- Project Support: Drive strategic finance projects, with a continuous improvement mindset, open to adapting to new ways of working through new systems and automation.
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- Strong technical accounting background with solid knowledge of IFRS, FRS 102, and IFRS 16.
- Proven experience managing balance sheets, complex cash flows, and month-end close processes within a group structure.
- Familiarity with finance ERP systems and financial reporting/consolidation tools.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise with external auditors and internal tax specialists.
Initially offered on a 12 month fixed term contract basis (with potential to extend), this role will pay up to £60,000 plus wider package for the right candidate. This business is operating a hybrid working policy of up to 2 days per week in the office in Bristol. Due to this being an immediate requirement, candidates on 3 months notice cannot be considered at this time.
