We are currently partnering with a well-established leader in the services sector with a long-standing reputation for technical excellence and a heritage built over decades of successful project delivery. While they are proud of their history, they are currently navigating an exciting period of strategic transformation. Proactively streamlining operations, modernising internal systems, and refining financial frameworks to ensure they remain as agile and competitive as possible for the future. This role is a pivotal part of that evolution, offering the chance to provide stable leadership while directly influencing the next chapter of the business. This is the perfect role for a qualified accountant to remain hands on, but add value in both improving processes and getting involved in commercial projects.
Responsibilities will include:
- Full responsibility for preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports across the group P&L and supporting the consolidated group balance sheet and cash flow production
- Prepare and post journals, including accruals, prepayments, deferred income, adjustments and reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards
- Prepare, review and reconcile key balance sheet accounts, including intercompany, fixed assets and control accounts in line with group expectations
- Provide detailed variance analysis, commentary and ad hoc analysis work
- Preparation of ad hoc financial analysis, forecasts and external reporting
- Support the preparation of group-level tax information, statutory accounts and wider reporting requirements
- Collaborate and support on budgeting and forecasting
- Support year end processes, external audit and statutory account preparation
- Oversee and mentor the finance team, fostering a collaborative, hands on team culture
Your Profile:
- CIMA / ACMA / ACCA / ACA Qualified
- Experience in management accounting
- Hands on as well as leading a team
- Strong Excel experience
- Closely located to site in Gloucester
