Element are pleased to be supporting a growing client with the recruitment of a Management Accountant to join their finance team in Paulton, just south of Bristol.
This role would suit someone who is part qualified or finalising their studies, looking for a long-term position. You will work with a dynamic and engaging line manager who will support your career progression and aspirations.
Role & Responsibilities
- Collaborate with external stakeholders to prepare accurate and timely budgets, management accounts, and financial forecasts across multiple schools.
- Assist in the development and ongoing management of financial systems to maintain accurate records and deliver reliable financial reporting to budget holders.
- Ensure adherence to statutory regulations and financial policies.
- Support the annual financial planning cycle, including preparation and review of budgets.
- Advise and assist budget holders in managing their budgets effectively, ensuring value for money and identifying opportunities for additional funding or savings.
- Provide ad hoc support to senior staff members.
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations and other key financial controls regularly.
- Contribute to internal audit activities, including reviewing internal controls.
- Handle VAT returns, audit preparations, and submission of budgetary returns.
Key Characteristics
- ACCA, CIMA, finalist or part qualified.
- Experience with management accounts.
- Confident communicator.
- Adept with Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
