We are currently partnering with a well-established leader in the services sector with a long-standing reputation for technical excellence and a heritage built over decades of successful project delivery. While they are proud of their history, they are currently navigating an exciting period of strategic transformation. Proactively streamlining operations, modernising internal systems, and refining financial frameworks to ensure they remain as agile and competitive as possible for the future. This role is a pivotal part of that evolution, offering the chance to provide stable leadership while directly influencing the next chapter of the business. Whilst this is a permanent position, we will also consider Interim applications.
Responsibilities
- Produce full monthly management accounts including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
- Oversee and mentor the finance team, ensuring accuracy across AP, AR, and payroll functions.
- Lead the annual budgeting process and provide detailed quarterly rolling forecasts.
- Monitor project-specific profitability, revenue recognition, and work-in-progress (WIP) valuations.
- Conduct variance analysis to identify financial trends and provide commentary to the leadership team.
- Manage year-end audit files and ensure all statutory and tax compliance is met.
- Review and improve internal financial controls and ERP system workflows.
- Perform high-level review of all balance sheet reconciliations and weekly payment runs.
- Partner with engineering leads to analyse labour recovery rates and project margins.
- Act as the primary financial lead for the business, providing commercial insight for decision-making.
