Are you an experienced, qualified general practice accountant looking to step into a role with real impact? My client, a small yet exceptionally high-performing firm in North East Bristol, is looking to appoint a General Practice Supervisor to join their specialist team.

Although modest in size, this firm is an absolute powerhouse in its specialist areas and renowned for delivering outstanding customer service. The owners bring over 40 years of combined experience from top-ranked firms across the Southwest, creating a technically strong, supportive, and engaging environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

As General Practice Supervisor, you will play a key part in the delivery of high-quality client work across a diverse portfolio. Your responsibilities will include:

Preparing statutory accounts for limited companies, sole traders, and partnerships
Ad hoc corporate / personal tax compliance work
VAT returns
Reviewing work prepared by junior staff and supporting their development
Managing client communications and ensuring deadlines are met
Assisting with process improvements and contributing to the firm’s continued growth
Working closely with the directors to uphold the firm’s reputation for excellence

What I’m Looking For

Fully ACA or ACCA qualified candidates
Around 5+ years’ experience within general practice (in a small, medium, or large regional firm)
Strong technical knowledge and confident accounts preparation skills
Strong experience in managing client relationships within an accountancy or professional services firm
Excellent knowledge of tax, accounting, and financial reporting standards.
A proactive and solutions focused approach.
