Element has an opportunity for a Mechanical Fitter to join our rapidly expanding team at Warringtonfire at our new Birchwood facility. The position will suit applicants wishing to exploit their technical knowledge in a commercial environment, as part of a fast‑growing company with global reach.
Responsibilities
- Diagnosing and rectifying breakdowns and defects promptly, both planned and unscheduled
- Implement preventive maintenance tasks on Fire Resistance furnaces and Reaction to fire equipment, including associated components
- Maintaining and repairing Hydraulics systems
- Responsible for utilizing the company’s CMMS system to track maintenance activities, record equipment history, and ensure accurate documentation
- Undertake welding and fabrication to furnace components and test subassemblies
- Installing, altering, and testing new equipment, fixtures, and systems
- Identifying and recommending opportunities for process and machinery improvements to increase efficiency
- Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety legislations & business processes
- Support the contractor management process when third party support is needed
- Proactively support the improvement cycle within the department, bringing ideas and observations to your line manager
- Development details SOP’s for the equipment under your care
- Ensure works are prioritised to maintain the agreed levels of equipment efficiencies
Skills / Qualifications
- Previous experience of working in an industrial environment with transferable skills
- FLT MEWP OHC
- Good verbal and written English communication skills
- Proactive approach to health and safety
- Progress reporting to management
- MIG‑TIG Welding
