Element has an opportunity for a Mechanical Fitter to join our rapidly expanding team at Warringtonfire at our new Birchwood facility. The position will suit applicants wishing to exploit their technical knowledge in a commercial environment, as part of a fast‑growing company with global reach.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnosing and rectifying breakdowns and defects promptly, both planned and unscheduled
  • Implement preventive maintenance tasks on Fire Resistance furnaces and Reaction to fire equipment, including associated components
  • Maintaining and repairing Hydraulics systems
  • Responsible for utilizing the company’s CMMS system to track maintenance activities, record equipment history, and ensure accurate documentation
  • Undertake welding and fabrication to furnace components and test subassemblies
  • Installing, altering, and testing new equipment, fixtures, and systems
  • Identifying and recommending opportunities for process and machinery improvements to increase efficiency
  • Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety legislations & business processes
  • Support the contractor management process when third party support is needed
  • Proactively support the improvement cycle within the department, bringing ideas and observations to your line manager
  • Development details SOP’s for the equipment under your care
  • Ensure works are prioritised to maintain the agreed levels of equipment efficiencies

Skills / Qualifications

  • Previous experience of working in an industrial environment with transferable skills
  • FLT MEWP OHC
  • Good verbal and written English communication skills
  • Proactive approach to health and safety
  • Progress reporting to management
  • MIG‑TIG Welding
