Overview
Element has an opportunity for a Trainee Test Engineer to join our growing team in Wednesbury. This is a great opportunity to develop your engineering career within a global Testing, Inspection and Certification business.
Hardware testing evaluates the performance, durability, and safety of construction hardware components to ensure they meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Preparing and calibrating all laboratory test equipment to UKAS and OEM requirements
- Preparation of test samples / specimens and fixture preparation
- Testing materials and components to various specifications & standards
- Preparing and compiling test reports when required
- Adhering to regulations and laboratory policies regarding health and safety
- Maintaining accurate and systematic records in accordance with documented procedures
- Performing tasks as assigned by the Senior Laboratory staff
- Ensure all Quality and H&S procedures are fully adhered to
- Maintaining a clean and hygienic working environment
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping strictly
Skills / Qualifications
- A good general education including GCSE’s in English, Maths and Sciences
- Experience in working in a test environment is preferred but not essential
- Experience in operating workshop machinery is preferred but not essential
- An inquisitive approach to learn about product engineering and testing
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Confident, punctual and well organised
- The ability to develop strong working relationships with both colleagues & clients
- The ability to work to tight deadlines
