Element Materials Technology have fantastic opportunities for a Technical Governance Manager to provide technical leadership & governance of the key technical areas of responsibility. Develop the strategic understanding, approach, and execution plan for product groups and relevant technical services. You will play a critical role in developing and implementing the technical governance framework to ensure that all activities related to testing and certification are carried out in a consistent, efficient, and reliable manner. This role is Warrington based.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the delivery of Element’s vision and strategy and objectives.
- Develop and implement technical governance policies, procedures, and guidelines in alignment with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Lead and facilitate training programs to increase awareness and understanding of technical governance requirements among employees.
- Ensure the knowledge of the industry and the development of new standards and services we deliver to our customers is shared and understood by the team.
- Lead the representation of the Company on the segment's relevant technical committees and trade associations in support of the technical strategy for the segment.
- Lead the technical understanding of where we may need to invest (capital and colleagues) in order to execute identified opportunities and priorities.
- Identify from a technical leadership perspective what commercial activities including business development/marketing and training initiatives are needed.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies to ensure continuous improvement in technical governance practices.
- Provide guidance and support to the team on technical governance-related matters, including quality management systems, accreditation, certification, and inspection processes.
- Lead technical product sector review meetings that will involve team members across divisions, in order to share technical competence and knowledge and contribute to the development of the segment strategy.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of technical governance processes and recommend improvements to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including quality assurance, operations, and compliance, to ensure consistent adherence to technical governance standards.
- Comply with all company policies, procedures and processes.
Skills / Qualifications
- In-depth knowledge of industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices in testing, inspection, and certification industry.
- Knowledge of applicable legal and regulatory frameworks in the TIC industry.
- Strong understanding of quality management systems, accreditation processes, and inspection and certification procedures.
- 5 years’ experience (essential).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills to address technical governance challenges effectively.
- Proficient in using relevant technology tools and software for technical governance and quality assurance.
- Active affiliation with appropriate networks and organisations and ongoing continuous professional development (CPD).
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, clients, and external stakeholders.
- Leadership abilities to guide and motivate teams towards achieving technical governance objectives.
- A valid driver’s licence, with an acceptable driving record under Element's policy, is required if the role spans locations.
- Travel, including overnight stays, as and when required.
