Join our team as an Engineer / Project Engineer (Structural Analysis) and become a trusted partner to our clients, providing design support & in-service assessments, verification services & failure investigations, and structural analysis for technical safety assessments.

Responsibilities
- Carryâout a range of technical projects and analyses, with some supervision from our more experienced staff, to meet the clientsâ needs and expectations.
- Participate in technical delivery and client relationship management.
- Support business development activities with a range of new and existing clients.
- Integrate and engage with our positive team culture with adherence to Elementâs core values â care, integrity, and progress.
Skills / Qualifications
- Hold a bachelorâs degree (grade 2.1 or above), masterâs degree or PhD in a relevant engineering, science or applied mathematics discipline; preferably with experience in structural analysis from first principles or in accordance with relevant standards.
- Have experience delivering engineering analysis in an engineering company and/or consultancy setting, including managing projects or aspects of engineering projects.
- Have strong technical knowledge and experience in solving problems with FEA, including defining an approach, model setâup, postâprocessing, verification and validation. This should include statics, dynamics, and frequency domain, ideally in at least two of aerospace, nuclear, renewable energy, oil & gas, or defence sectors.
- Have a working understanding of structural integrity topics such as fatigue, creep and plasticity; as well as material behaviour.
- Ideally have knowledge of widely used analysis tools including ANSYS, Abaqus, NASTRAN, or Calculix with demonstrable ability to extend their capability using user functions where necessary.
- Some proficiency in programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, VBA, C#, or C/C++ would be an advantage.
- Have strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Are at, or actively working toward, Chartered Engineer (or equivalent) status.
- Like a challenge, are flexible thinkers and arenât intimidated by unfamiliar problems.
