Element has an opportunity for an Asbestos Analyst to join our growing team working on a nuclear decommissioning project in Sizewell Power Station, Leiston, Suffolk. Our asbestos teams are experts in their field of conducting Asbestos Surveys, Analytical Services, Asbestos Management and Air Testing as well as many other environmental services. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career in a challenging asbestos environment.
Responsibilities
- Conducting Four Stage Clearances, Air Monitoring / Fibre Counting
- Representing Element in a professional manner at all times
- Collating and producing sampling information, reports, site plans and any other documentation relevant to activities undertaken
- Ensuring quality control policies and procedures are adhered to as part of maintenance of authorisation status and UKAS accreditation
- Participating in quality assurance audit programme
- Remaining up to date with asbestos legislation and industry best practice
- Maintaining relevant qualification to operate within the asbestos industry
- Organising and planning personal workload to ensure client requirements are satisfied
- Supporting the business by working flexibly from Element offices or from client sites as required
Skills / Qualifications
- Relevant asbestos related qualifications including P403 & P404 (or equivalent)
- Significant experience within a UKAS accredited company in Four Stage Clearances and Air Monitoring in a variety of property types
- Good understanding of Health and Safety procedures and legislative guidance in relation to asbestos
- Knowledge of UKAS practices and procedures
- Knowledge and awareness of current trends and developments in the asbestos industry
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision
- Logical and structured approach with excellent attention to detail
- Confident approach with good interpersonal skills
- Flexible attitude with a willingness to travel and stay away from home in remote locations as required
- A full UK driving licence is essential as regular travel will be required
