Job Description
Lead Engineer â Gas Turbine Performance
Due to growth, we are looking to recruit an Engineer with experience in Gas Turbine Performance This position will involve plenty of hands-on gas turbine performance work with an opportunity for individual growth and development. This position can be based at either our Derby or Bristol offices.

We are strong supporters of flexible working and will consider a range of working patterns for this role. Please note that on-site attendance at one of our offices (Derby / Bristol) will be required for at least one day per week
Responsibilities
⢠Support the development of our in-house Gas Turbine performance modelling and analysis capability, i.
⢠Act as a day-to-day interface with our clients on the subject of Gas Turbine performance modelling and analysis. To include the programme and technical management of defined work packages.
⢠Carry-out a range of gas turbine modelling and analysis tasks to support client project needs and deliverables
⢠Support the development of new modelling approaches and techniques on behalf of Element and our clients
Skills / Qualifications
We are looking for people who:
⢠Have a Bachelorâs degree (grade 2.1 or above), Masters or PhD or in a relevant engineering, science or applied mathematics discipline. Preferably with a strong Gas Turbine and Thermofluids component.
⢠Have a good understanding of both Steady-State and Transient performance, with an appreciation of gas turbine control systems and gas turbine testing
⢠Are experienced in the development and use of Gas Turbine modelling codes for both steady-state and transient performance and control system simulation. Practical experience with NPSS and MATLAB/Simulink would be a signficant n advantage.
⢠Have good technical knowledge (or a strong willingness to learn) in at least one other technical discipline such as Thermofluids / CFD, Thermals / FEA / Structural engineering, Systems Engineering / MBSE
⢠Have good project management and verbal/written communication skills
⢠Ideally be a Chartered Engineer (or equivalent) or actively working towards chartership status
⢠Like a challenge, are flexible thinkers and arenât intimidated by unfamiliar problems
⢠Enjoy client and colleague interaction, takes responsibility for delivery, and wants the opportunity to work within a growing and dynamic engineering team.
