Element has an opportunity for a 12 month fixed term appointment as a Laboratory Technician for our BM TRADA timber services facility near High Wycombe. This is a great opportunity to develop your career within a Global Testing, Inspection & Certification business.
Responsibilities
- Carrying out conformity testing of building products especially screws, nails and other fasteners
- Producing test certificates in accordance with our laboratory’s accreditation
- Occasional use of our wood workshop machinery (training will be provided)
- Ensuring that Health and Safety procedures are followed
- Following procedures included in the quality management system
- Being responsible for the organisation and cleanliness of the timber laboratory
Skills / Qualifications
- Preferably have exposure to working within a laboratory environment
- The ability to work to British and European standards (training will be provided)
- Customer focused
- Ability to work alone and in a group
- Common sense, hardworking and self-discipline, taking pride in all tasks carried out
- Good time management and organisational skills
- Computer literate with experience in MS Office products, in particular Excel, Word and Outlook
- Detail orientated
- Educated to A Level, HNC/D, Degree in a relevant discipline (STEM)
This role may suit a recent College leaver or Graduate looking to develop their career working for an international company.
Our site is in a rural location between Hughenden Valley and Naphill which is most conveniently reached if you have your own transport.
