Element Digital Engineering is a leading provider of specialist engineering simulation, design, and consultancy support to clients across many industries β including Aerospace, Automotive, Energy, Built Environment and Chemical Process β in the UK and internationally.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out a range of technical projects and analyses, with some supervision from our more experienced staff, in order to meet the clients' needs and expectations
- Participate in technical delivery and client relationship management
- Support business development activities with a range of new and existing clients
- Integrate and engage with our positive team culture with adherence to Element's core values β care, integrity, and progress
Skills / Qualifications:
- Have a bachelor's degree (grade 2.1 or above), master's degree or PhD in a relevant engineering, science or applied mathematics discipline.
- Preferably with experience in the application of structural analysis from first principles or in accordance with relevant standards.
- Have experience delivering engineering analysis in an engineering company and/or engineering consultancy setting, including managing projects or aspects of engineering projects.
- Have strong technical knowledge and experience in solving problems with FEA, including defining an approach, model setup, post processing, verification and validation.
- Have a working understanding of structural integrity topic areas such as fatigue, creep and plasticity; as well as material behaviour.
- Ideally have knowledge of widely used analysis tools, including ANSYS, Abaqus, NASTRAN, or Calculix.
- Some proficiency in the use of programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, VBA, C# or C/C++ would be an advantage.
- Have strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Are either already at, or actively working toward, Chartered Engineer (or equivalent) status.
- Like a challenge, are flexible thinkers and arenβt intimidated by unfamiliar problems.
- Enjoy client and colleague interaction, take responsibility for delivery, and want the opportunity to work within a growing and dynamic engineering team.
