We currently have an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic WAREHOUSE OPERATIVE at our Deeside laboratory. Your duties will include delivering consumables and samples to the relevant parties in accordance with company methods and adhering to all quality aspects that are required to be carried out in an accredited laboratory.
Responsibilities
- Receive incoming shipments of laboratory supplies, chemicals, and equipment and report any issues to the appropriate Manager.
- Inspect deliveries for accuracy, damage, and quality.
- Verify packing slips and reconcile with purchase orders.
- Organise and maintain the warehouse and storage areas in accordance with laboratory requirements.
- Respond quickly to prepare orders and distribute materials to laboratory personnel as per requests or predetermined schedules.
- Coordinate with laboratory staff to understand their supply needs and ensure timely delivery.
- Maintain a well‑organised system for tracking and documenting the movement of supplies within the laboratory.
- Ensure proper storage of the stock/chemicals in collaboration with technical staff.
- Adhere to all laboratory safety guidelines, including proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and guidelines for handling and transporting materials.
- Communicate effectively with laboratory staff regarding stock availability, order status, and related matters.
- Keep the warehouse environment clean and tidy.
- Ad hoc duties including disposal and washing of cool boxes.
Qualifications
- Valid UK driving licence.
- Forklift (counterbalance) licence essential.
- A self‑motivated team player.
- Organised and self‑directed with the ability to work independently and adhere to deadlines.
