Element has an opportunity for an Engineer to join our rapidly expanding team. As a member of the operations team, the Engineer position performs a variety of routine and non-routine testing assignments within the department assigned and ensures timely and accurate test results under minimal direct supervision. The engineer position must be proficient in a number of core business and technical skills including but not limited to compliance with established safety rules, code of conduct, and company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical and engineering leadership, and support the development of new technologies within a local laboratory.
- Be accountable for accurate and timely release of testing data to customers including sign-offs of quality control data as acceptable.
- Be expected to obtain guidance in non-routine situation testing.
- Have the ability to oversee standard and/or routine technical problem-solving activities.
- Interact with customers on technical issues and questions.
- Provide input and support on business development opportunities with new or existing customers.
- Be confident in making both formal and informal presentations on conventional and/or routine testing to a wide range of stakeholders.
- Assist in the professional development of novice technicians and engineers within the local laboratory.
- Carry out crucial examination and implementation of testing concepts and data.
- Utilize an assortment of skills, methods, procedures, and materials in advanced testing analysis.
- Be adept at drawing on internal knowledge as well as industry and/or academic resources in reaching testing conclusions.
Skills / Qualifications
- Working knowledge of laboratory safety.
- Possess a high level of expertise related to scope, core theories, concepts, terminologies and boundaries of chosen engineering discipline.
- Possess a Bachelor of Science degree in a science or testing related field.
- Have a minimum of 2 years’ pertinent post-degree engineering experience, or advanced academic/professional qualifications.
- Possesses a demonstrated ability to apply academic knowledge within the context of Element’s business.
- In-depth understanding of testing concepts.
- Can analyze and compile testing data from the tests performed.
- Possess strong computer skills.
