Element has an opportunity for a field based Asbestos Analyst / Surveyor to join our growing team based in East Kilbride, covering Scotland. Our asbestos teams are experts in conducting asbestos surveys, analytical services, asbestos management and air testing, as well as many other environmental services. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop a career in a challenging asbestos environment.
Responsibilities
- Provides technical and legislative knowledge, and supports client and business requirements for asbestos surveying and asbestos management.
- Is accountable for the accurate and timely release of data and certification to clients, including technical review as acceptable but will be expected to propose guidance for review in non-routine situations.
- Oversees more complex technical problem solving activities.
- Interacts with customers on technical and legislative issues and questions.
- Provides input and support on business development opportunities with new and existing customers.
- Able to lead asbestos survey work up to industrial refurbishment and demolition surveys competently and without significant guidance or supervision.
- Takes initiative and, in most cases, does not need to wait for further instruction; able to decide on and implement appropriate methods and protocols.
Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum BOHS P402, P403 & P404 or equivalent.
- Experience in both air testing and 4 stage clearances.
- Proven experience working on large, complex industrial surveys and large complex asbestos enclosures (both air monitoring support and 4SC works).
- Proven experience of technical review of asbestos reports and air monitoring documentation.
- Confident approach with good interpersonal skills.
- Flexible attitude with a willingness to travel and stay away from home in remote locations as required.
- Full UK driving licence is essential as regular travel will be required.
