Element has an opportunity for a Trainee Radiographic Technician to work at our facility in Dudley. 39 hrs, 6am-2pm Monday to Friday and 2pm-10pm Monday to Friday (no lunch). Paid 20 min break. You will be responsible for assisting radiographic testing on components and parts used in Aerospace and the defence sector. Any background in engineering will be considered for this role as full training will be provided.
Responsibilities
- Assist radiography (X-ray & Gamma) tests in accordance with written company procedures
- A high proportion of manual handling of components is required
- Help prepare components for test, setup, and adjust test equipment
- Assist in the maintenance of related test equipment and tools in good working condition
- Complete assigned tasks in a safe and efficient manner
Skills / Qualifications
- Ideally educated to a good level in maths, science or mechanical engineering
- Takes the initiative
- Able to decide on and implement appropriate testing methods and protocols
- Leads and assigns the work of others when needed
- Adapt at managing job priority and work time in accordance with targets / goals set by supervisor
- Under the close guidance of advanced Engineers, works on well delineated technical issues
- Has a clearly demonstrated ability to apply an array of testing techniques in a rational and practical style to help examine issues and build solutions
