Warringtonfire, part of the Element Group, offers an opportunity for a Technical Officer at our new state‑of‑the‑art fire resistance testing facility – one of the largest and most advanced of its kind in the world. With expanded capacity and cutting‑edge technology, we provide comprehensive testing, technical, and certification services to customers globally. The role will be part of a 200‑strong team of fire safety experts. Through our Career Ladder professional development scheme, we support growth to expert level.

Responsibilities

  • Liaise with clients to ensure their requirements are fully met, including quoting and contracting projects and ensuring clients provide all required information regarding their products and test specimens.
  • Conduct tests in accordance with the relevant test standards and approved procedures.
  • Prepare test reports that comply fully with test standard and quality manual requirements.
  • Work with Technician teams to ensure test preparations and testing are completed to specification and on time.
  • Participate in specific projects to cost, organise and complete.

Skills / Qualifications

  • Ideally a higher education qualification in a scientific or engineering field.
  • Working understanding of construction materials and their uses; experience in a construction‑related field is beneficial but not essential.
  • IT skills including Word and Excel; knowledge of AutoCAD is beneficial but not essential.
  • Good decision‑maker with practical problem‑solving skills.
  • Confident, calm individual who can establish rapport with clients and staff.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Willingness to learn quickly.
  • Team‑working orientation while able to operate independently.
